Environmental education

For addressing the various environmental problems, Environmental Education for Sustainable Development (EESD) is emerging as an essential tool to change student’s commitment, motivation, stewardship, behaviour and attitudes (UNESCO, 2011). And India is the only country to have passed one of the landmark judgments passed by the Supreme Court of the country directing all education boards to include environmental education (EE) as part of the formal education system at all levels. CIRHEP is promoting a sense of responsibility through environmental education programmes to student communities by sharing their experience from the beginning. An experienced and caring professional are committed to positive youth development ensuring this hands on training programme creates an ‘episodic memories’ for the students. Environmental Education program is designed to offer students experiential, hands-on learning opportunities in a rural setting. This is the perfect opportunity to enhance and reinforce what is being taught in the classroom as learning beyond desks and chairs enable them to improve their socialization, curiosity, and as an occasion for immersing themselves at rural place for few days.
